There are two regular events for older people at St Mary’s, on alternate Wednesday afternoon’s:
Coffee Afternoon
On alternate Wednesday afternoons in St Mary’s hall, from 1.30-3.30pm, this is a chance for older people to meet up, have tea or coffee and cake together, and maybe to join in a game of Scrabble. There are typically about 20 people, men and women, and we are always ready to welcome more! We are also able to offer lifts to and from this for those unable to provide their own transport – please ring the parish office for details (01293 547 261).
Meeting Point
On alternate Wednesday afternoons from 2-3.3pm in St Mary’s Upper Room, this is a group that meets for discussion of various topics of relevance, from practical things like visits from Community Support Officers and the Fire Service, to Christmas and Easter messages and visits from special guests. Older people are obviously also welcome at The Gate Coffee Shop on Thursday and Friday mornings!
