Questions, Questions…

Who won the FA cup in 1970?
If you’re a fan of pub quizzes or TV game shows, you’ll be used to questions like that – even if you can’t answer them. Or perhaps you’d prefer Who plays Dot in EastEnders? or even, What’s the chemical symbol for silver?

Life is full of questions, some of them more important than others. For many years, the Alpha course has been asking and providing some answers for the big Questions of Life such as Who is Jesus? Why pray? What happens when we die?

This year’s Alpha poster asks perhaps the biggest question of all – Does God exist? It is certainly an important question to ask as the answer we give, will make a huge difference to how we view life, and how we live it.

St Mary’s Church on Wakehurst Drive will be running an Alpha Course in the Autumn. It provides a basic introduction to the Christian faith and runs over 10 Thursday evenings. We share a meal together, watch a video about some aspect of faith, and then have the opportunity for a discussion about what we have heard. One of the things we say about Alpha is that no question is too simple or too hostile. So why not join our next Alpha Course, starting on Thursday 8th October at 7.00pm.

For more information or to book a place on the course, ring Tim Wilson on 01293 523463, or email him at twilson@ctlconnect.co.uk

By the way, the answers to the questions in the first paragraph are:
1. Chelsea (of course), 2. June Brown, 3. Ag

The answers to the questions in the second paragraph… you can think about!
